Our History
The Family Community Theatre was the first theatre of its kind in Kansas when it was founded in 1989!
We are always excited to welcome new faces to our community! Whether you’d like to be onstage or off, people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds are encouraged to join. The Family Community Theatre strives to provide members of the Hutchinson and surrounding area with a safe environment for personal and educational growth, as well as to provide opportunities to unite the creative energies of the community!
We have a wide variety of musicals and plays throughout the year. Click on the link below to find one that is right for you!
It takes more than the actors onstage to make a show happen. See how you can volunteer backstage or in the box office.
As a non-profit organization we rely on donations to allow us to continue to educate and inspire the people of Hutch.

The Family Community Theatre is a fixture in downtown Hutchinson, and since its creation in 1989 has been a source of entertainment, arts education, and fulfillment for both participants and patrons for the community and surrounding areas. Participants of FCT have gone on to pursue degrees in theatre because of their involvement with us, and some participants have even met their spouse on our stage!
Each season FCT offers a variety of plays and musicals, from Shakespeare to Rogers & Hammerstein to the latest Broadway hits.
Since 2002, over 4,000 participants have performed on our stage, both young and old.
